Hi Everyone!
A colleague at work asked me if I could make a card for her brother in law who has been helping with DIY jobs at her house, so she wanted a card with a bathroom (!) on it! Woo hoo! I thought, so this is what I came up with...and despite it being one of those much loved 'men's cards', I'm pretty pleased with it! Luckily, it also fits in with a few of the 'men's card' challenges that are running at the mo!
Anyhoo, the image (along with a picture of a bathroom) is the fab 'Mr Fixit' digi that I bought this week from Mo Manning's Digital Pencil. I coloured him with my Spectrum Noirs and then cut him out. I used some great paper in my new My Minds Eye 'Miss Caroline' pad - which looks like planks of wood - perfect for the DIY theme...and layered it up onto gold and brown card, before adding my bathroom picture and my Mr Fixit, popped up on Pinflair Gluegel. To finish off I added a sentiment - a fab freebie from Nettys Cards - and two little brads in the shape of a hammer and a saw. I then decorated the inside to match.
Hope you like my card. I'd like to enter it in the following challenges:
Mo Manning - Something New (My latest Mo Manning digi purchase and My Minds Eye Papers)
Charisma Cardz - It's a Boy Thing
Totally Gorjuss - Manly
Stamp and Show - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - New Year, New Stash
Thanks for looking!
Best wishes
Karen x
What a fab card. Love that the inside is decorated too. Thanks so much for using one of my freebie sentiments, and for letting me know. I love it, and am so proud to see it on your card.

Oh wow, it is such a brilliant card for a man. I love it and it's perfect for our challenge this week. Thank you for sharing and joining in with the fun at Totally Gorjuss this week, and good luck in the challenge. Hugs Janine xx
ReplyDeleteLove the card, the image is perfect for the card, At first when I saw it I thought it was a scrapbook page or a reno project :) The metallic tools are so fun, don't you love those dies :) Thanks for playing the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge.
ReplyDeleteWow! That certainly was a tall order for a card, but you nailed it! I liked how you combined the realistic photo with the more whimsical fix-it guy. It created a great eclectic look and the tools and shiny trim gave it just the right amount of texture and bling! If I were a fix-it man, I would totally frame this! Wonderful job on a tricky topic and I'm so glad you shared your talents with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!
