Bo Bunny Card Challenge

Hi All! Back again - twice in one day! Whilst completing the layout in the last post I decided to use some of my Country Garden papers in the latest Bo Bunny Card Challenge. This month it was to make a card using 70% 'white space'.
This is actually harder than you think so I created mine by making a focal point of a butterfly that I cut from the papers and glittered and layered up on foam pads.
To draw the eye to the corner of the page I made two ribbon style banners and added a little sentiment before finishing off the edges of the paper with some Stickles. I hope you like the finished result. I was on a roll after making this one, so made another using my offcuts and sticker embellishments. I've not added a sentiment yet so that I can use it for any occasion.
Why not pop over and join in the challenge. Best wishes and bye for now Karen x

Sunflower Sensation

I recently found the Sarah's Cards blog and the challenge this month was to create a layout following the sketch below.
Here is my take on the sketch using a photo I took in June 2011 of a fabulous field of sunflowers whilst on holiday in France. I love the vibrant, summery colours in this photo so teamed it with some Country Garden Bo Bunny papers.
I added some secret journalling on a pull out tag behind the photo and a title using some lovely yellow glittery Thickers. I created a little bit of interest with an EK Success punch and my own sunflower style embellishment with an inked paper flower and Bo Bunny brad, which I changed the colour of from silver to gold using alcohol inks. Finally, I finished the edges of the papers with a border of Stickles.
Anyway, hope you like my layout and it makes you feel a little bit summery in this winter weather we're having! Thanks for looking and bye for now Karen x

My Word for 2013

Morning All! Just thought I'd show you my entry for the Zeus and Zoe challenge this month. This is the first time I have entered one of their challenge's which is to pick a word which you hope to live by in 2013. Mine is ENJOY and my hidden journalling on the tag with the butterfly behind the photo reads: 'I'm going to enjoy new challenges, adventures and experiences and take time to enjoy and appreciate the simple things in everyday life.' On this project I used a mixture of papers, flowers and accessories from Prima's Fairy Belle and Almanac collections and I used a new EK Success scroll punch which I bought myself after Christmas and now can't stop using! LOL!
Anyway, hope you enjoy my layout. Why not pop over to the Zeus and Zoe blog and join in with the chance to win a lovely 6x6 Maja Designs paper pad. Thanks for looking! Karen x
