Cup of Cocoa

Morning All!
I hope everyone is getting through this windy and rainy time we are having here in Britain - and the snows in other countries too! This morning I'd like to share a card that makes you feel like cosying up in the warmth, using a new digi stamp by Sassy Cheryl called 'A Cup of Cocoa'.


I decided to make an easel card and thought this would be a great image done in Christmassy colours for a winter birthday. As quite a few of my friends all have birthdays on the run up to Christmas, this will be a great card to add to my stash.
I used the Go Kreate Frilly 3 dies to make the shaped card and create the layers. The base is made from a very light Kraft coloured card which gives it a softer look. The green papers are from a Papermania Birdsong pad, and the red paper is from a Papermania Home for Christmas pad. The oval dies are Spellbinders.
I love this little image and think it would work just as well in pastel colours (you may see this idea popping up at later date LOL!). I used my Spectrum Noirs to colour the image in and added gems for embellishments. The 'With Love' message is from a stamp by Waltzing Mouse, whilst the little sentiment on the front was printed on my computer.

    Oh! I think easel cards are so fun and so eye catching! your colors really make everything pop! This is such a unique shape to showcase this sassy little darling!

    Thank goodness, we didn't get a ton of snow. I HATE it! :)
    But. . .I am love, love, loving this gorgeous card. Think I'll go make me some coffee. . .I don't do cocoa. :)
